Tyre Recycling

Ogtec has vast experience in tyre recycling, transforming used tyres into valuable resources. Working with companies such as Tyrecylce, we have led the industry with our innovative solutions and comprehensive services, including design, manufacture, and installation of tyre processing plants. Our experience and knowledge in tyre recycling enables us to add value to any process to ensure it will meet the outcome deliverables. Utilising the specific machines, including shredders, raspers, granulators and magnets to efficiently break down tyres into rubber crumb, steel and textile. Our design philosophy will enhance processing efficiency, optimise material recovery and maximising the value extracted from every tyre.

Tyre Recycling Equipment

Shredder

The shredding process is the first step in tyre recycling, cutting tyres into smaller pieces (size reduction). Primary shredders handle the initial cut, breaking down tyres into large chunks. Secondary shredders then refine these pieces into smaller sizes, making them more manageable for further processing.

Rasper

After shredding, the rasper separates the rubber from the steel and fabric within the tyres. There are different rasper types, such as single-stage which performs the basic separation, and dual-stage rippers provide a finer, more precise separation of rubber from metal and fabric and produce high-quality rubber crumb.

Magnets

Magnets play an important role in tyre recycling by removing the steel from the rubber. Magnets such as overband magnets, electro-magnets and magnetic head drums are located throughout the process to produce a high quality rubber product free of steel impurities.

Granulators

To further break down the rubber crumb into smaller more uniform granules, granulators are used. Depending on the application for the end product, granulators size the rubber to meet that specification.

Aspirator

Aspirators clean the rubber granules by extracting the light impurities like fabric fibers to produce the highest-quality rubber granules possible. The aspirator is an air classifiers which separates the different materials by density.

Screens

When it is important to have consistent, uniform granule size, screens are utilised to classify the granules by size. Typically vibrating screens are used in this application.

Bagging Systems

Once the rubber crumb has been produced it is transferred into bulka-bags for handling and transport. The bagging system fills each bulk-bag to the required volume and weight and each bulka-bag of material is tagged with production dates and batch identification.
