Project Sectors

OGTEC is committed to delivering innovative and economical solutions to waste and recovery across all industries to maximise return and ensure maximum productivity.

Municipal Solid Waste

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) is a non-hazardous waste generated by both households and commercial entities. It consists of food waste, wet and dry recyclables including cartons, paper, cardboard, plastics and tetra packs.

In past generations, MSW was typically sent directly to landfill but this is now changing. We extract valuable commodities such as plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals for further recycling. Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF) can then be manufactured for the waste to energy and cement industries. Following the composting or anaerobic digestion, the compost-like output (CLO) is further processed to highest-quality material.

OGTEC’s modern plants are fully automated removing human contact with the waste. This eliminates the risk of sharps and contact with contaminated materials ensuring a safer process for our clients.

PEF

With over 250,000 tons of Australian waste per annum being converted into high quality fuels through our plants, OGTEC are the premier supplier of PEF plants in Australia.

We have significant experience developing processes to ensure the reliable production of PEF that meets stringent specifications consistently.

OGTEC’s process ensures incredible reliability and the highest throughputs with our shredding partner Linder. Lindner are the marker leaders in PEF shredding – the proven Komet and Polaris PEF shredders offer the highest efficiency shredding solutions with high throughput, ease of maintenance and robustness. These machines are a cut above the rest.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
  • Primary shredding
  • Screening
  • NIR optical separators
  • Separation using windshifters and optical separators
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous extraction
  • Baling and wrapping

C&D and C&I

OGTEC’s C&D/C&I (Construction & Demolition/Commercial & Industrial) plants are built on a robust and proven process. With operating plants in Australia achieving over 98% diversion from landfill, we maximise the recovery of resources while ensuring the highest quality outputs.

Throughputs of over 100tph are achievable with minimal labour input, resulting in the lowest cost per ton processed for our clients.

In recent years we have placed significant focus on fines refining. Our process extracts better quality aggregates by separating the light combustible fraction for PEF.

This process minimises the volumes of fines produced and ensures that they are suitable quality for reuse.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION
  • Sizing of Waste
  • Ferrous and non-ferrous extraction
  • Screening of various fractions
  • Separation using windshifters, ballistic separators
  • Automatic sorting using NIR optical sorters
  • Secondary shredding
  • Baling and wrapping

Commingled

In recent times the expectations of commingled MRFs has changed substantially. Recycled materials such as paper, plastic and cardboard extracted from commingled waste must now meet much higher quality standards.

OGTEC have risen to this challenge by developing automated solutions that can achieve incredible throughputs while achieving extraordinary recovery and purity levels. Our after service team will support our partners for the lifetime of the plant. We can react quickly to ensure the best possible utilisation of the plant.

We use the very best equipment from our tier one partners to achieve these goals, and our strong relationships mean our clients get world class technology with local service.

OUR PLANTS TYPICALLY CONSIST OF
  • Bunker feeders
  • OCC screens
  • Glass breaker screens
  • Ballistic screens
  • NIR optical sorters
  • Magnets
  • Eddy current separators
  • Balers

Tyres

Used tyres are one of the most challenging waste streams to process worldwide today. The durability of tyres means only the most robust equipment can efficiently break the tyres down for reuse.

OGTEC have significant experience developing plants that produce tyre derived fuel (TDF) of various grades used to fuel cement plants, crumb that is used for rubber mats, sports fields and rubber moulds and powders that are used by the asphalt industry. Liberated textile and steel are also recovered and recycled.

OGTEC have delivered solutions for all types of tyres including passenger, truck, light truck, super singles and OTR.

EQUIPMENT
  • Primary shredder
  • Raspers
  • Granulators
  • Overband magnets
  • Aspirators
  • Densometic tables
  • Screens and classifiers
  • Tumble back feeders
  • Conveyors

Secondary Plastics

Secondary plastics plants are a critical step in the circular economy. These plants take high-value post-consumer and post-industrial plastics and further refine these into flakes or pellets that can then be used to produce new plastic products. OGTEC and its partner Lindner help insure the right solution for the client’s needs.

THE PLANTS TYPICALLY INCLUDE
  • Debaling
  • Primary Shredding
  • Washing
  • Decontamination
  • Separation
  • Secondary Shredding

Food and Organics (FOGO)

Food and Organic waste recovery is an expanding market. Converting this material from waste to an organic fertilizer on a commercial scale requires well-designed plants.

FOGO PLANTS OFTEN CONSIST OF
  • Sizing technology to separate material by product size
  • Pneumatic separation technology to separate unwanted heavy (rocks, etc.) or lightweight (plastic bags, etc) contaminants
  • Magnets to remove FE metal
  • Sorting stations for final QC

The clean organic material is then stored in wind-rows to allow the material to cure prior to final sizing and suitable for landscape and agricultural applications.
