Compactors

OGTEC manufacture a range of stationary compactors to suit the demands of small to large Transfer Station applications. Designed to cater for throughput volumes up to 480m³/hr and compatible with all feed types including push pit, moving floor, conveyor and front-end loader. Constructed from high tensile steel the compactors are built to withstand the harsh working environment and achieve high compaction for maximum productivity and payloads to reduce loading time and freight cost. With a large clear top opening and extended blade penetration which significantly improves loading, increases payload and reduces spillage at pack off (separation) for both Compactor Bins and Transfer Trailer applications.

Role of Compactors in Transfer Station

Maximizing Operational Efficiency

Stationary waste compactors serve multiple functions that directly impact transfer station productivity. By compressing waste materials, these machines can handle throughput volumes, making them suitable for operations ranging from small regional facilities to large metropolitan transfer stations. The compaction process transforms loose waste into dense blocks or bales, which occupy significantly less space than uncompressed materials. This volume reduction allows transfer stations to process more waste within their existing footprint.

Reducing Transportation Costs

One of the most significant benefits of using compactors is the dramatic reduction in transportation costs. Compacted waste achieves higher payload weights within legal truck limits, meaning fewer trips are required to transport the same amount of material. This efficiency translates directly into cost savings through reduced fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, and driver labor.

Material Recovery for Recycling

By producing uniform, dense loads, stationary waste compactors make it easier to separate and transport recyclable materials such as cardboard, paper, and plastics. This improved handling supports higher recovery rates and better quality of recyclables for downstream processing facilities.

Improving Site Safety and Cleanliness

Compaction reduces the volume of loose waste on-site, lowering the risk of windblown debris, tripping hazards, and pest attraction. A cleaner and more organised transfer station not only enhances safety for workers but also improves operational efficiency by minimising obstructions in work areas.

Customised recycling solutions to suit your requirements

OGTEC TS4

The OGTEC TS4 is a high-performance stationary compactor designed for medium-scale transfer station operations. It features a chamber volume of 4.0 m³ and a working capacity of up to 240 m³/hr, making it efficient for consistent waste processing. The clear top opening measures 2550L x 1730W mm, allowing easy waste loading, while the container/trailer penetration depth is 750 mm for effective waste transfer. Its pack blade face size is 1700W x 1000H mm, powered by a 178 mm bore diameter cylinder. The compactor operates at a pressure of 120 bar (maximum 150 bar), ensuring strong and reliable compaction. It has overall dimensions of 6200L x 1900W x 1400H mm, a cycle time of 60 seconds, and is powered by a 30 kW motor. With a weight of 7.0 tonnes, the TS4 provides a balance between size, power, and portability, ideal for facilities processing mixed waste streams, recyclables, and materials via conveyor or moving floor systems.

OGTEC TS8

The OGTEC TS8 is a heavy-duty stationary compactor engineered for large-scale transfer station operations. It offers an 8.0 m³ chamber volume with a working capacity of up to 480 m³/hr, doubling the throughput of the TS4. The clear top opening is 2800L x 1850W mm, enabling the handling of larger waste volumes, complemented by an extended container/trailer penetration depth of 1500 mm. The pack blade face size measures 1980W x 1060H mm, driven by a robust 254 mm bore diameter cylinder. Similar to the TS4, it operates at 120 bar (maximum 150 bar) for powerful compaction. This model has overall dimensions of 8500L x 2200W x 2000H mm, a cycle time of 60 seconds, and is powered by a 55 kW motor. With a weight of 16.0 tonnes, the TS8 is built for maximum efficiency, durability, and performance in demanding facilities handling large quantities of cardboard and paper or plastic recyclingmaterials, as well as bulk waste transferred.
